Audio Classifier for Automatic Identification of Endangered Bird Species of Nepal

IOE Graduate Conference

Published a paper about an AI-based system to classify bird calls from audio data to aid in the conservation of Nepal’s endangered bird species. The model, utilizing Mel-Spectrogram and MFCC for feature extraction and EfficientNet for classification, achieved an F1-Score of 79% for 41 bird species. This work supports biodiversity conservation efforts by enabling effective monitoring of endangered species. Read the paper.
